Our ZonAcc Accumulation is a patented multi-use conveyor that is unique to UMD Automated Systems. ZonAcc positive drive conveyors provide efficient, non-contact or zero-pressure accumulation. The ZonControl feature minimizes control I/O compared to traditional systems.
Through our technology, we are able to achieve a positive conveyance and still accumulate while eliminating line pressure issues. Because the accumulation controls are internal to the conveyor, the ZonAcc is a low-cost conveyor. When you eliminate the line pressure of traditional accumulation systems, you can also eliminate conveyor-related scrap and disfigured products that come as a result of products being bunched together under pressure. This conveyor can be used to release one product at a time, or many products at once.
The roll driving mechanism does not require any belt tracking and is modular in nature, which results in ease of any necessary repairs. It is capable of handling much heavier loads than traditional conveyors, such as pallets, and can be used to replace drive zones engaged by a clutch, which involves significant maintenance and many moving parts. Additionally, users don’t have to put a motor on every zone with our method.
