Sorting and moving product efficiently is vital in the manufacturing industry. UMD Automated Systems can help you achieve this goal with the right material handling system. Our modular systems make set-up time more efficient and cost effective. They can also be integrated into almost any system.

To understand the difference a custom solution from UMD can make in your operation, let’s take a look at just a few of the conveyor systems we offer.

TRT With VibraDamp Technology

Our TRT sortation conveyors utilize UMD’s patented VibraDamp technology. This sorter features a high-speed diverter that can sort product at rates in excess of 300 feet per minute, with gaps in product spacing as little as 8 inches. VibraDamp technology minimizes system noise and vibration, extending the lifecycle of the equipment.

ZonAcc Non-Pressure Conveying System

The ZonAcc accumulation system is a patented, multiuse conveyor that is unique to UMD Automated Systems. Unlike traditional conveyors, ZonAcc conveyors provide efficient, non-contact or zero pressure accumulation. ZonAcc can also provide gravity zone accumulation, which requires no motors. This makes for cost-efficient zone control. ZonAcc is also available in a positive-drive configuration that can span long distances with a single motor.

MDR 4400 TTT

When it comes to MDR conveyors, we like to say, “no motors, no mess.” Integrating our MDR 4400 TRT’s into a system design can reduce overall cost and provide a low-voltage, variable speed solution.

Non-Contact Sortation

UMD’s non-contact sortation utilizes Intralox dual-stacked angled roller belt, or DARB for short. Non-contact handling minimizes chances for tire uniformity issues during sortation, reducing scrap while maintaining product quality. This makes DARB a great application for fragile green tires. DARB has also been a proven solution for component preparation, tire building, final finish, and warehouse applications.

DARB sortation conveyors can provide advanced high-speed, multi-directional sortation in a reduced footprint as compared to other sortation systems.

UMDs versatile, modular solutions are designed to improve our customers’ material handling operations today and readily adapt to future needs. If you are interested in learning more or would like to explore options to expand your capabilities, contact us today.
